Stories from the Field
In Lagos, Nigeria, students at Igbo-Owu Senior Secondary School were introduced to AI tools for the first time. Many had never used a laptop before our program arrived. Within days, they were crafting prompts, researching topics online, and discussing the ethics of artificial intelligence.
One student summed it up simply: “Before this, I thought computers were for rich people. Now I know they are for everyone.”
What Success Looks Like
We measure success not just by students trained, but by the sustainability of each program. A successful deployment means:
- Students can independently use AI tools after we leave
- Teachers are confident to continue instruction on their own
- School administrators have a plan to maintain the lab
- The community sees the lab as a permanent resource, not a one-time event
The Road Ahead
We are just getting started. As we expand to Guatemala and Kazakhstan, our goal is to replicate the Lagos model β equip, train, and empower β in every new community we enter. With enough support, we believe we can reach 10 countries within 5 years.
